We
are a non-profit making organisation, the Romney Marshes Area
Internal Drainage Board (RMAIDB) is a ratepayer funded Local Authority
concerned with matters of land drainage and the maintenance and
control of certain watercourses. The RMAIDB is the amalgamation
of the Romney Marsh Levels, the Walland Marsh, the Denge and Southbrooks,
the Rother and the Pett Internal Drainage Boards.

Board Members
Elected
Members – These
are members elected by the ratepayers in accordance Part I Schedule
1 of the Land Drainage Act 1991.
They may be either owners or occupiers of land in the district
or nominated by the owner / occupier of the land in the district.
Drainage ratepayers are eligible to vote. Elections are held every
three years. The numbers as shown below;

Appointed Members – these
members are appointed by charging authorities within the district
in accordance with Part II Schedule
